Swim Carnival 2018

Calling all kids who love to swim! Come together on 26^th May 2018 (Saturday) and have a whale of fun at the Swim Carnival with us.

This event is for the young novice swimmers, with various fun activities running alongside the traditional 25m short course races. It should be a great morning, promoting fun in the water, as well as introducing low pressure racing to inexperienced young swimmers.

Venue: UWCSEA Dover Campus Swimming Pool

Age Group Eligibility: 7 & Under / 8-9 yrs / 10-11 yrs

Entry Fee: S$25.00 per swimmer

This event promotes a "Swim-Fun, Swim-Strong" approach to younger swimmers who are still new to the standard swim meet format. It will be a safe and fun environment for them.

Upon arrival at the pool, swimmers will be asked to report to the registration table to be given an age group marker and goodie bags worth $50 each.

At the start of the carnival, swimmers will be called and allocated one of the following three stations. On completion of each, they will be marshaled to the next station. 

The challenge will be to swim any of the following events: 25m Butterfly, 25m Backstroke, 25m Breast stroke, 25m Free-style. If the little one can swim more than one event, they are welcome to challenge themselves!

If the young swimmer can only swim with the help of a kickboard, this is also allowed in this event.

All swimmers who complete a 25m event will receive a ribbon with their swim time written on it.

Obstacles Course (Bouncy Castle)
The challenge here will be to race on the inflatable obstacle in pairs! Find a friend and race against the other pair.

Once completed, the swimmer can go back to the starting point to challenge other swimmers.





1m & 3m Diving Boards
Here, the swimmers will be challenged to perform a jump from 1m and 3m diving board with minimum splash entry.



In addition to the swim challenges, children and their families can enjoy the little bazaar, ice creams and cotton candies that will be sold on-site at the carnival. Lucky participants will also walk away with lucky draw prizes at the end of the Carnival!

The event is jointly organized by the United World College Aquatics Department and Ocean Paradise.

If any of the swimmers are not comfortable with any of these courses, they are able to skip them. We promote a fun and safe environment for all children under the age of 11 years at this Swim Carnival.
